Who We Are
Capital Area Transport Service provides personalized, door-to-door wheelchair-accessible transportation. Founded in 2012, we service nursing homes, medical offices, rehab facilities, dialysis centers, hospitals, and thousands of individual customers of all ages. We are contracted with Montgomery County DOT to provide transportation to Medicaid recipients. We also provide transportation to veterans.
Regardless of disability or surgical procedure, we also provide transportation for special events, leisure outings, and airport runs. Capital Area Transport Service believes in and follows core principles of providing safe, reliable, timely, and affordable transportation to the disabled community.

Our Drivers and Vehicles
We are headquartered in Montgomery County, Maryland, and licensed by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Commission (WMATC). We accept most forms of payment, including Medicaid and Optum.
At Capital Area Transport Service we use wheelchair-accessible vehicles and can provide our own wheelchairs upon request. Our drivers have exceptional driving histories, go through thorough background checks, and are trained in proper customer service. A select number of our drivers are volunteer firefighters with basic medical aid experience.

Our geographical area of non-emergency transportation service covers:
- Montgomery County, Maryland — all areas, including Bethesda, Silver Spring, Potomac, Takoma Park, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Kensington, Wheaton, Olney, and surrounding communities
- Frederick County, Maryland — Frederick, Urbana, and Ijamsville
- Prince George’s County, Maryland — Hyattsville, Greenbelt, College Park, and Laurel, and others
- Washington DC and Northern Virginia — by arrangement
Long-distance transportation is also available with advance notice.
